A mu-opioid feedback model of human social behavior

چکیده

Since the discovery of pain relieving and rewarding properties opiates such as morphine or heroin, human mu-opioid system has been a target for medical research on processing addiction. Indeed, pleasure act mutually inhibitory each other suggested an underlying common neurobiological mechanism. Recently, interest extended role endogenous beyond hedonic value towards social-emotional behavior. Here we propose feedback model social This is based upon recent findings opioid modulation learning, bonding empathy in relation to affiliative protective tendencies. Fundamental that reinforces socially behavior response positive negative experiences with long-term consequences health. The functional implications stress, anxiety, depression attachment behaviors are discussed.

Mu opioid receptor polymorphism, early social adversity, and social traits.

A polymorphism in the mu opioid receptor gene OPRM1 (rs1799971) has been investigated for its role in sensitivity to social contexts. Evidence suggests that the G allele of this polymorphism is associated with higher levels of sensitivity. This study tested for main effects of the polymorphism and its interaction with a self-report measure of childhood adversity as an index of negative environm...

Mu Opioid Receptor Gene: New Point Mutations in Opioid Addicts

Introduction: Association between single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) in mu opioid receptor gene and drug addiction has been shown in various studies. Here, we have evaluated the existence of polymorphisms in exon 3 of this gene in Iranian population and investigated the possible association between these mutations and opioid addiction.  Methods: 79 opioid-dependent subjects (55 males, 24...

Involvement of Mu Opioid Receptor Signaling in The Protective Effect of Opioid against 6-Hydroxydopamine-Induced SH-SY5Y Human Neuroblastoma Cells Apoptosis

Introduction: The neuroprotective role of opioid morphine against 6-hydroxydopamineinduced cell death has been demonstrated. However, the exact mechanism(s) underlying such neuroprotection, especially the role of subtype receptors, has not yet been fully clarified. Methods: Here, we investigated the effects of different opioid agonists on 6-OHDA-induced neurotoxicity in human neuroblastoma...

The effects of feedback on human behavior in social media: an inverse reinforcement learning model

Inverse reinforcement learning Predicting future behavior Group dynamics Do users change behavior in response to social interactions? We first take a model-free view. Given that a user makes a contribution to a certain community, how likely is the user to visit that community again as a function of the resulting social interactions? We use data from reddit.com, a social media website with many ...

Human Mu Opioid Receptor (OPRM1 A118G) polymorphism is associated with brain mu-opioid receptor binding potential in smokers.

Evidence points to the endogenous opioid system, and the mu-opioid receptor (MOR) in particular, in mediating the rewarding effects of drugs of abuse, including nicotine. A single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) in the human MOR gene (OPRM1 A118G) has been shown to alter receptor protein level in preclinical models and smoking behavior in humans. To clarify the underlying mechanisms for these ass...
